Did you know that the Church has the power to fix the orphan crisis in America? It’s true! There are currently 428,000 children in foster care in the United States. Of these, it is estimated that 120,000 are eligible for adoption. With over 400,000 U.S. churches, if just one person from every church would welcome a child into his/her home, then every child would have a home.
Sadly, this is not happening. Each year, thousands of children are turning 18 and aging out of foster care without ever finding a forever family. The statistics for these young adults are heartbreaking:
In the state of Pennsylvania, between 13,000 and 15,000 children are currently in foster care. More than 8,000 of them are 13 and older. We believe that it’s not too late for these kids, and that we can work together to solve the problem and bring them hope for a bright future.
Our God-sized goal is that we would see a day when the list of children in the Lehigh Valley waiting for their forever home is empty – because there is not a single child who is unwanted, unloved, or parentless. Here are three ways to get involved:

- Foster a child or children until they are able to be reunited with their birth parents
- Foster a child or children until they are released for adoption
- Adopt a child or children who are waiting for their forever families
