Opportunities to Grow

Discover Classes

This year, we expanded our classes to include Discover the Bible, Discover Baptism, and Discover Next Steps. These classes are designed to explore the foundational elements of finding and following Jesus.

“Being a new believer, it has been a blessing to attend the Discover classes. Hearing all the different opportunities presented at Faith Church in different areas of outreach and serving, combined with Scripture readings and recommended books, was so inspiring. It helped me understand how many ways there are to serve and inspired me to want to go further.”

Baptism

Over the last year, 111 people took the next step in their journey with Jesus by getting baptized. Over one hundred people shared how Jesus truly does change lives!

“I decided to get baptized because I wanted to publicly display my love and commitment to following Jesus. It was important for me to share the struggles in my life, so that people do not feel alone. Baptism was a great experience; so many lives changed that day!”

Summer Worship Night

In August, we packed The Center with voices praising the work God has done and will continue to do in our lives. After 90 minutes of worship, our church family gathered in the Commons to connect and enjoy a little sorbet surprise.

“The presence of God was just so vivid in the room. We felt we were completely wrapped in God’s arms. It was simply glorious!”

VBX 2023

In July, we opened our doors for VBX, a week-long opportunity to point kids ages 4-8th grade to Jesus. About 180 volunteers served to make this week a success for the 400+ kids who attended each day.

“Serving at VBX was one of the highlights of my year! This was my first volunteer experience at Faith Church. Seeing the love of God through the eyes of children was a beautiful perspective change. We were all reminded of the importance of having childlike faith!”

Morgan Dietz, VBX Volunteer

“VBX was a huge blessing to our family! Our kids couldn’t wait to go each day and were beaming when they told us all they had learned. It really helped them grow in their relationship with the Lord and their understanding of the Bible all while having so much fun. As a parent, it is the greatest joy to see your children love learning about Jesus.”

Discover Baptism

Discover Baptism is one of the many new Next Steps classes we introduced this year. We had over 60 people attend this class wanting to learn more about the Biblical significance of Baptism.

“When I was in middle school, I always looked up to my high school leaders here and how they helped me keep God at the center of my life. I think it’s so cool that I now get to be that person for all these amazing middle school kids that I get to work with each week!”

LOCAL OUTREACH

Raub Middle School Graduation

Last Spring, we partnered with Raub Middle School as they celebrated the graduation of their 8th grade students. We donated over 75 prom dresses for students to celebrate this special day!

“Our students had the time of their lives ‘shopping’ and saying YES to their dress! What an amazing and empowering experience it was for the students and staff who volunteered at the event!  We are grateful for partners like Faith who are always ready to jump in and serve our school community.”

Olga Jaeger, St. Luke’s Community School Coordinator

Foster & Adoption

In this past year, we have come alongside 30 families who have adopted children and 25 people who have expressed interest in starting the process of fostering and/or adopting. We’ve also been able to provide Trust-Based Relational Intervention trainings and parent workshops for these families.

This year, we also offered a free Parents’ Night Out for foster/adoptive parents allowing parents a night out while their children had the fun opportunity to connect with other kids.

“Our kids had a fun time making crafts and connecting with other children. Our girls do not feel alone or different knowing other children who have had similar life experiences. It brings me much joy knowing my children are making these connections and are in a safe environment while we enjoy a date night.”

Debbie Valentin, Foster & Adoptive Parent

Student Ministry Trip: Ripple Community Center

Faith Students made 75 lunches for Ripple Community Center, a local organization dedicated to providing a safe space for people experiencing homelessness, trauma, or mental illness. The students then spent the day engaging with the families there bringing a little light into their world.

“On behalf of our organization and our residents, I want to tell you how grateful we are for your recent contribution. We are so grateful for your faithful support of our RCI families!”

Sherri Brokopp Binder, Executive Director of Ripple Community Inc

Adult Ministry Trip: Raub Middle School

One of our ministry teams spent a weekend remodeling the faculty room at Raub Middle School.

“Our building is turning 100 years old this year, so needless to say, a lot of rooms have needed some TLC for quite some time. It has been our dream to remodel that space and create a truly relaxing area for our teachers. Faith Church performed an absolutely magical makeover and created a modern, cozy space. This room went from being a quick “microwave and go” to the most visited common space in the building! It is a true pleasure to just be in this room. We are grateful for the generosity and kindness of Faith Church and cannot wait to make memories together as a team in this beautiful room.”

GLOBAL OUTREACH

ULG Team Launched

For years, we’ve been working towards a God-sized goal of sending a team to an unreached language group to build community, share the love of Jesus, and eventually, plant a local church. This past Spring, we sent our first ULG team member to SE Asia, and in December, we sent two more team members to join her.

“In my journey and transition to SE Asia, I have been increasingly grateful to be a member of Faith Church. I know that I am not alone in this work to see an unreached language group receive access to the gospel. Jesus gave the Great Commission to His church, and Faith Church is being obedient through sending me. The Lord has used the generosity, prayer, love, and care of Faith Church to sustain and encourage me as I take this first step of learning the national language and culture.”

Savannah

“Faith Church helped us prepare as a family for what the Father is calling us towards. We are overwhelmingly thankful for the body of Christ’s giving so we could receive training for cross-cultural church planting as well as a master’s degree in theology and business. The two years of training that Faith Church allowed us to receive will be an immense asset to our ministry overseas.”

Adult Ministry Trip: SE Asia

Last March, a team from Faith Church spent the week caring for children at a conference for ministry workers across the world. This conference gave parents an opportunity to worship together — something so rarely available within the countries they serve. Our team was able to provide tons of games, crafts, resources, snacks, and love to these children thoughout the week.

“Going on a ministry trip will open your eyes to another way of life. The smiles on the faces of the children spoke volumes to the joy they experienced. It was extremely hard to say goodbye, and I know the team members left part of their hearts in SE Asia.”

EXTRAordinary Giving Project

Anathallo Counseling

The vision for a counseling center began more than a decade ago as growth in the Lehigh Valley and the need for counseling outpaced the services available. Our hope is for every human to flourish and to have the opportunity to grow or begin again. After many years of planning and prayer and as a result of your extraordinary giving, we are thrilled to see Anathallo Counseling open in early 2024 — in a location just steps away from Faith Church.

“As a result of Faith Church’s participation in the EXTRAordinary Giving Project 2022, we were able to begin the construction of Anathallo Counseling in Summer 2023. Counseling will soon begin in this warm, welcoming, state-of-the-art facility.”

Chris Zang, Director of Counseling
